With Smarty Mats as a guide through mealtimes, you will find endless ways to model and develop the basics of functional communication and speech development. Isolating these early skills and modeling them in a variety of contexts reinforces and strengthens understanding.
🍎 Smarty Mats Step 2: Step 2 expands communication skill development by including new words that can create 2-3-4 word combinations, model more back and forth responding, and brings self regulation into focus. Introducing expansion of skills by incorporating them into a format that is already familiar and understood, is a strengths based approach that reduces overwhelm and maximises your child’s opportunities for success.
